Android Developer

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Developer with deep hands‑on experience in Jetpack Compose to join RWS’s Content Technology mobile engineering team. You will design, develop and optimise modern, scalable Android applications that deliver clean architecture and high‑performance user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Own end‑to‑end feature development, from requirement analysis through architecture design, implementation, testing and deployment.
• Build UI with Jetpack Compose, Material Design 3, animations, theming and state management (StateFlow/MutableState).
• Utilise modern Android architecture components such as ViewModel, LiveData, Room, WorkManager and Navigation Component.
• Implement clean, modular, testable code following Clean Architecture and MVVM/MVI patterns.
• Integrate RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets and manage local data persistence.
• Optimise app performance, memory usage, offline capability and battery efficiency.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers and collaborate with product, design, QA and backend teams.
• Ensure app stability and quality through unit tests, UI tests (Espresso/Compose Testing) and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Demonstrated expertise in Jetpack Compose and related UI tooling.
• Experience with clean architecture, MVVM/MVI and modern Android components.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
