Xceptor Developer (Level 2-3) – Remote

About the role

A hands‑on implementer who configures the Xceptor platform to meet client requirements. Works independently across the full build lifecycle – from reading a spec to delivering a tested, documented solution. Thrives in fast‑paced, project‑based environments where no two problems are the same.

Key responsibilities

• Operate independently on complex engagements, lead scoping sessions, design solutions from first principles, review peers' work and manage client expectations.
• Configure the Xceptor platform across complex, multi‑source data flows and reconciliation scenarios.
• Lead or co‑lead scoping and requirements sessions with client business and technical teams.
• Translate business requirements into Xceptor solution designs independently without a pre‑written spec.
• Write user stories and functional specifications to a sign‑off standard.
• Perform solution design and code reviews for more junior team members.
• Identify scope risks early and raise them with proposed resolutions.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for a workstream when required.
• Support onboarding of junior resources where required.

Required profile

• Business‑analysis rigour – asks the right discovery questions and identifies requirement gaps before configuration.
• Design thinking – thinks in systems, considers edge cases, downstream effects and maintainability.
• Peer leadership – provides constructive feedback and raises the quality of teammates.
• Client maturity – holds own with senior business or technology stakeholders and adapts communication style.
• Full delivery ownership – has taken a workstream from requirements to client sign‑off with minimal oversight.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL, stored procedures and performance tuning.
• Relational database design and normalization.
• Complex data transformation and reconciliation.
• XML/JSON schema design and validation.
• Object‑oriented programming in C#, Java or Python (proficient).
• C#/.NET – read, review and modify confidently.
• Business‑analysis tooling – user stories and acceptance criteria.
• API design and integration patterns.
• Experience with Xceptor (bonus).
