Welder – Power Generation Field Services

About the role

The Welder will support GE Vernova’s FieldCore Gas Power field services by cutting, shaping and assembling metal components and piping for power generation equipment. This role requires precise execution of welding tasks, adherence to safety and quality standards, and extensive travel to customer sites worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Select and use appropriate tools and equipment to perform welding and fabrication tasks.
• Interpret and follow mechanical drawings and welding procedures.
• Maintain high quality and safety standards on all work performed.
• Use hand grinders to restore welds to original shape and contour.
• Review and complete required quality documentation.
• Operate heating torches, including oxy‑acetylene and propane torches.
• Travel internationally and domestically as required, including work on holidays, weekends and overtime.
• Perform additional duties to support FieldCore’s vision and core values.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Compliance with ISO certification requirements.
• Experience with power generation equipment (gas/steam turbines) and auxiliary systems preferred.
• Ability to operate jacking fixtures, porta‑power, cranes and forklifts.
• Qualified to perform TIG welding and grinding of turbine components.
• Strong customer communication and interpersonal skills.
