Web Developer (WordPress & Next.js)

About the role

We are looking for a Web Developer who can work on both traditional WordPress sites and modern headless applications built with Next.js and React. You will join Tussle Digital, a fast‑growing digital agency, and help us transition to a scalable, high‑performance architecture while delivering excellent user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins, build responsive sites, maintain and enhance existing WordPress projects, and work with WooCommerce and custom integrations.
• Optimize WordPress performance, Core Web Vitals, security and SEO, and manage hosting environments.
• Build modern front‑end applications with Next.js and React, create reusable UI components using Tailwind CSS, and implement SSR, SSG and API routes.
• Integrate third‑party APIs, authentication systems, and headless CMS platforms.
• Convert design mock‑ups from Figma or Adobe XD into responsive, cross‑browser compatible websites.
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, project managers and clients, participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional web development experience.
• Comfortable working with both classic WordPress development and modern React/Next.js stacks.
• Strong focus on performance, SEO and accessibility.

Required skills

• HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
• Tailwind CSS.
• WordPress custom theme and plugin development, Advanced Custom Fields, Gutenberg blocks, WooCommerce, WordPress REST API, security and optimisation.
• Next.js, React, server‑side rendering, static site generation, API routes.
• Responsive design, cross‑browser compatibility, WCAG accessibility.
• API integration, authentication, third‑party services.
