Junior Quality Assurance Engineer (Hybrid, Gurgaon)

About the role

We are looking for a junior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our international InsureTech startup in Gurgaon. The role is hybrid and you will work closely with developers, product owners and other stakeholders to ensure the quality of our next‑generation supply‑chain platform.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manual testing of web, mobile applications, APIs and backend services.
• Create and execute test cases, regression, smoke, sanity and exploratory tests.
• Translate product requirements into detailed test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Validate end‑to‑end workflows, data flows, business rules, alerts, reports and integrations across the platform.
• Conduct API testing, verifying request/response payloads, authentication, authorization and error handling.
• Execute cross‑browser and mobile testing on relevant devices and operating systems.
• Identify, reproduce, document and track defects with clear steps, evidence and impact.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to investigate defects and verify fixes.
• Perform regression and release testing for new features and production releases.
• Continuously improve QA processes, test coverage and documentation.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of professional experience in QA, software testing or quality engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with manual testing of web applications.
• Good understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Ability to write clear test cases, scenarios and defect reports.
• Experience testing REST APIs and working with tools such as Postman or Swagger.
• Familiarity with SQL/database validation and data verification.
• Basic knowledge of browser developer tools and troubleshooting.
• Experience testing mobile apps on Android/iOS is a plus.
