Vice President, Legal, Risk & Compliance

About the role

The Vice President, Legal, Risk & Compliance leads CIMETs' commercial contracting, regulatory compliance and dispute management across Australia and India. This senior position partners with commercial, people & culture, and external counsel to protect the business while enabling growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end commercial contracting for retailer, provider, white‑label, co‑brand, marketing, technology, SaaS and data‑sharing agreements.
• Negotiate directly with large Australian counterparties on service definitions, audit rights, liability, data protection and termination clauses.
• Develop and maintain a contract playbook, template suite, negotiation parameters, delegated authority matrix, contract register and renewal calendar.
• Manage disputes, notices and contentious matters, including briefing and cost control of Australian and Indian external counsel.
• Support corporate activities such as capital raising, M&A, joint ventures, new entity formation and post‑transaction integration.
• Advise on intellectual property, brand, marketing claims, corporate governance and employment matters.
• Lead Australian regulatory and product compliance, covering credit licensing, consumer law, energy retail law, telecommunications, broadband and private health insurance obligations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial law, risk management and regulatory compliance, preferably within the Australian market.
• Proven track record negotiating complex commercial agreements with large enterprises.
• Strong understanding of Australian Credit License obligations, Consumer Law, Energy Retail Law, Telecommunications regulations and related compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing cross‑border legal teams and external counsel in Australia and India.
• Ability to design and maintain contract governance tools and processes.
