Underwriting Analyst – Mortgage Loans

Altisource is seeking energetic, highly skilled self‑starters who thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. The Underwriting Analyst role focuses on mortgage loan underwriting, ensuring compliance with US mortgage origination procedures, regulations, and client guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain working knowledge of US mortgage origination closing procedures, federal and state lending laws.
• Interpret state statutes, federal regulations and investor guidelines and apply them to specific loans.
• Review mortgage loan documents, closing and disclosures for compliance with regulatory and client overlays.
• Audit loan files daily for exceptions, assess risk, and identify fraud or red‑flag indicators.
• Communicate effectively with US‑based underwriters, clients and subject‑matter experts to ensure quality output.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain and decipher AUS findings (Desktop Underwriter and Loan Prospector).
• Experience in mortgage loan processing, documentation, closing, title, quality assurance, compliance or underwriting.
• Experience working with loan officers, borrowers and managing an active pipeline of mortgage loans.
