Trainee Screener – Baggage Security

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Trainee Screener to join our aviation security team. You will support baggage screening operations, ensuring dangerous goods, prohibited items, and weapons are identified and removed before they enter the aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Attend all regulatory trainings and complete required clearances.
• Operate X‑BIS equipment to analyse X‑ray images and detect dangerous or prohibited items.
• Perform physical inspections and ETD (Explosive Trace Detection) tests on baggage flagged by the X‑ray system.
• Maintain high Threat Image Projection (TIP) scores to demonstrate strong image‑interpretation capabilities.
• Follow BCAS and DGCA guidelines, record findings, and meet audit requirements.
• Conduct routine pre‑operational checks of X‑BIS, ETD, CT‑EDS and other security equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
• Collaborate with CISF and airline staff during inspections and provide timely updates to supervisors.
• Ensure screening is completed within strict timelines while maintaining safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to follow strict security protocols and maintain professional conduct.

Required skills

• Operation of X‑BIS imaging equipment.
• Conducting ETD (Explosive Trace Detection) tests.
• Use of CT‑EDS security scanners.
• Interpretation of Threat Image Projection (TIP) results.
