Test Manager

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Test Manager in Pune, India, within its Markets post-trade technology business. The role leads the evolution of infrastructure and deployment pipelines, building and managing robust, scalable and secure infrastructure that delivers digital solutions. The position is permanent and based in Pune.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve software using engineering methodologies that give business, platform and technology capabilities to customers and colleagues.
• Deliver high-quality software using industry-aligned languages, frameworks and tools, keeping code scalable, maintainable and performance-optimized.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers on requirements, solution strategies and integration.
• Take part in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Follow secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing.
• Contribute to technology communities and stay informed of industry trends.

Required profile

• Experience driving quality engineering practices, automation standards, code reviews and testing governance.
• Strong grasp of software testing concepts, test strategy, planning, defect management and QA processes.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery and testing applications across functional, regression, integration and end-to-end cycles.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive an automation-first quality engineering culture.
• Legal right to work in the role; the role may be subject to enhanced governance and regulatory compliance obligations.

Required skills

• API and web services testing, with hands-on automation framework design for API, UI and end-to-end testing.
• CI/CD pipeline integration and DevOps delivery.
• Core Java, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Karate and SQL.
• AI-assisted testing tools such as Claude, Copilot and GitLab.
