Team Lead - Indirect Tax Compliance

About the role

3M is seeking a Team Lead for Indirect Tax Compliance to oversee multi‑jurisdiction VAT/GST filing within a co‑sourced model. You will manage a team of analysts, coordinate with third‑party providers, and ensure accurate, timely tax submissions across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end indirect tax compliance process for multiple jurisdictions, including coordination, review, submission and payment of VAT/GST returns.
• Lead a team of five Indirect Tax Compliance Analysts, providing guidance, performance feedback and development.
• Collaborate with external providers to verify data accuracy, resolve discrepancies and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Support responses to tax authority queries, audits and information requests.
• Ensure transactional data (AP, AR, intercompany, inventory movements) is complete and accurate for tax reporting, identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Oversee invoice validation, export evidence and cash‑flow impact tracking, driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or a related field; professional tax qualification is a plus.
• 8‑10 years of experience in global indirect tax compliance (VAT/GST), preferably in manufacturing or distribution.
• Proven line‑management experience leading a tax compliance team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
