Tax Specialist – APAC & MEA

About the role
As a Tax Specialist (APAC & MEA), you will support direct tax activities across APAC and MEA, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, UAE, and other countries as required. You will help ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and reporting requirements while partnering with Finance, Legal, and other business teams to deliver accurate and timely tax reporting, filings, and stakeholder support across Shell's diverse businesses.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions, tax returns, and related reporting requirements.
- File statutory accounts and support other regulatory reporting obligations.
- Support tax assessments, audits, and resolve tax‑related queries.
- Prepare direct tax computations, tax true‑ups, and deferred tax provisions for revenue and statutory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, internal controls, and governance standards.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and business teams to support tax compliance and reporting.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining high data accuracy and integrity.
- Identify and implement process‑improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency.
Required profile
- Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) with ~2 years post‑qualification tax experience.
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax legislation, IFRS, and reporting controls.
- Experience in financial and statutory reporting processes.
- Proven ability to work with senior finance stakeholders across regions.
Required skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP (or similar platforms).
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience applying AI tools and technologies to business processes.
