Tax Analyst

About the role

The Tax Analyst will support the Tax Manager in overseeing tax compliance, reporting and risk management for Puma Africa’s sub‑regional operations. This role ensures accurate tax accounting, timely filings and effective cash‑flow management across multiple African entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly tax computations, validate data in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and ensure timely ETR reconciliation.
• Account for VAT, WHT and other indirect taxes in local ledgers, and provide monthly variance analysis.
• Support cash‑flow optimisation by guiding finance teams to reduce direct and indirect tax receivables.
• Coordinate annual corporate income tax (CIT) filings, provisional tax submissions and monthly VAT/WHT returns, including for dormant entities.
• Assist with tax audits and investigations, liaise with tax authorities, and reconcile tax balances with entity books.
• Lead monthly tax review meetings with country finance teams to discuss tax profiles and mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification.
• 5‑6 years of experience in corporate tax and indirect taxation.
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks, meet multiple deadlines and work collaboratively with regional finance teams.

Required skills

• Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for tax data validation.
