Tax Accountant – Direct & Indirect Tax (India)

About the role

You will join a leading professional‑services firm that is building a dedicated India tax centre. The role involves handling both direct and indirect tax compliance, filings and advisory for a global practice. You can work from any major Indian city or remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file GST, TDS and income‑tax returns within statutory deadlines.
• Compute tax liabilities, provisions and advance tax payments.
• Maintain tax registers, records and perform reconciliations.
• Support tax assessments, respond to notices and assist in audit engagements.
• Monitor regulatory changes and evaluate their impact on the organisation.
• Collaborate with the accounting team on tax provisioning and reporting.

Required profile

• 2–6 years of experience in tax accounting or tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Indian direct and indirect tax laws.
• Qualified CA or CA Inter with a tax focus (preferred).
• Exposure to international tax or transfer pricing is a plus.
• Experience in a professional‑services or consulting environment is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax software.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and detailed reconciliations.
