Systems & Development Engineer – Android Frameworks

About the role

Join Lenovo’s Android Software Platform team in Bangalore to design and build next‑generation Android framework components. You will work on the middle layers of the Android stack, delivering scalable, high‑quality software for global mobile devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Android framework components, platform services, and APIs.
• Participate in Android OS bring‑up, customization, and platform upgrades.
• Build reusable frameworks that serve multiple device programs.
• Debug and resolve system‑level issues across HAL, Runtime, and Telephony/Data stacks.
• Optimize performance, stability, and reliability of platform components.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate applications, services, and device features.
• Contribute innovative ideas, including patentable features, while ensuring compliance with Android standards, security, and privacy best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Android framework or platform development.
• Strong knowledge of HAL, Android Runtime, Frameworks, and Telephony/Data stack.
• Hands‑on proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and/or C++.
• Solid understanding of operating systems, embedded systems, and multi‑threaded programming.
• Experience with system‑level debugging and performance tuning.
