System Administrator

About the role

Folks, an artist‑driven boutique studio specializing in high‑end visual effects, is looking for a System Administrator to join its technical team. You will be responsible for keeping the studio’s computing environment reliable, secure, and performant, supporting both artists and production pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure software and hardware across workstations and servers.
• Set up user accounts, workstations, and monitor system performance.
• Maintain and configure computer systems, networks, servers, and virtualisation platforms.
• Upgrade components, manage virtual servers and integrate automation processes.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, run diagnostics, document problems and resolutions, and assess impact.
• Lead desktop and help‑desk support, ensuring timely resolution of workstation and application problems.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration.
• Experience in the VFX or animation industry is preferred.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts.
• Strong knowledge of Linux at a level above basic user.
