Supplier Quality Engineer – Mechanical Processes

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead quality improvement for mechanical processes supplied by Indian vendors. You will focus on machining, welding, brazing, fabrication and surface‑treatment operations that support traction converters, motors and gearboxes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct supplier audits, process surveys and root‑cause analyses for welding, brazing, adhesive bonding, machining and surface‑treatment activities.
• Develop and monitor action plans, ensuring effective implementation of performance improvements.
• Participate in supplier qualification, development and release of First Article Inspection (FAI) / PPAP for casting parts.
• Drive continuous improvement of supply quality and cost reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and development teams as the central contact for supplier‑related issues.

Required profile

• Experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical processes such as machining, welding, brazing, fabrication and surface treatments.
• Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., EN 15085, vacuum brazing, adhesive bonding).
• Proven ability to perform supplier audits, root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Strong communication skills to work with global commodity teams and local suppliers.
