Sub Editor – Lifestyle (English)

About the role

Jagran New Media is seeking a Sub Editor for its English Lifestyle team. Working closely with the Editor, you will ensure that news articles and reports are accurate, clear, and aligned with the publication’s style and tone.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit, and proofread articles for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style adherence.
• Translate Hindi stories into English while maintaining meaning and nuance.
• Fact‑check dates, statistics, and other information for accuracy.
• Ensure content follows the style sheet, brand guidelines, and ethical journalism standards.
• Collaborate with editors and team members to improve content quality and coherence.
• Conduct research as needed to validate information.
• Format content with appropriate headings, subheadings, bullet points, and lists.
• Perform final reviews before publication to confirm all edits are incorporated.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, PG, or Master’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field.
• Excellent command of English with strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency with editing tools and software.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices.
• Familiarity with digital publishing platforms and content management systems.
