Executive Producer – News Programming

About the role

Republic Bharat TV is looking for a dynamic Executive Producer to lead the editorial and production of its news bulletins, prime‑time shows, breaking news, debates and special programmes. The role demands decisive leadership in a fast‑paced, live‑broadcast environment, ensuring editorial excellence and seamless on‑air execution.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end editorial and production for assigned news programmes, aligning content flow with channel priorities.
• Plan, approve and structure show rundowns, ensuring strong story selection, sequencing, scripting and timing.
• Make real‑time editorial decisions during live broadcasts, including story changes, breaking‑news inserts, graphics and programming shifts.
• Coordinate breaking‑news coverage with the Assignment Desk, reporters, anchors, video journalists, graphics and technical teams.
• Maintain pace, continuity, accuracy and impact of live programming while minimising dead air.
• Exercise strict editorial and quality control over scripts, visuals, graphics, tickers, headlines and on‑air elements.
• Mentor and supervise producers and production staff, driving accountability and performance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvements in content quality and workflow.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in TV news production and live broadcast environments.
• Strong editorial judgment and the ability to make swift decisions under pressure.
• Proven leadership and team‑management skills.
• Deep understanding of PCR operations, MCR coordination and on‑air execution.
