Steward – Kitchen Cleaning and Maintenance

About the role

The Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and related areas. This role ensures that all utensils, equipment, and dishes are properly washed and that the work environment complies with safety and food‑handling standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑wash and wash of utensils, equipment and dishes following hygiene and safety procedures.
• Clean and organize the kitchen daily, using appropriate cleaning products for floors, countertops, trash bins, stoves, etc.
• Carry out weekly and monthly deep cleaning of walls, ovens, hoods, shelves, refrigerators, freezers, cold rooms, ceilings and lighting fixtures.
• Dispose of waste generated in the kitchen, dining areas and point‑of‑sale locations.
• Operate dish‑washing machines and set up buffet stations, including ice placement.
• Execute detailed equipment cleaning according to check‑lists.
• Maintain orderly storage of kitchen and restaurant utensils.
• Protect equipment, utensils, dishes and personal protective equipment (PPE) used daily.
• Follow food‑safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Keep waste storage areas organized and use cleaning products with correct dilutions.

Required profile

• Incomplete elementary education (Fundamental level).
• Minimum of 3 months of relevant experience.
• Behavioral traits: attention and concentration, cooperation, focus on quality and productivity, good interpersonal relationships.
• Technical training: basic steward techniques, basic food hygiene and safety, advanced hygiene courses.
• Preferably prior experience as a steward service provider at HTIC.
