Steward (Food & Beverage)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Steward to join our Food & Beverage team at The Shalimar Hotel in Mumbai. This full‑time, on‑site position supports daily kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene and smooth service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain kitchen areas, utensils, cookware and equipment according to hygiene standards.
• Assist in setting up food service stations, arranging crockery, cutlery and glassware.
• Replenish supplies and stock items, keeping workstations organized.
• Coordinate with kitchen, service and housekeeping teams to facilitate efficient meal service.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures, handling equipment responsibly.
• Support the team during peak service periods and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with a focus on courtesy and guest satisfaction.
• Effective communication skills for teamwork across kitchen, service and housekeeping.
• Basic knowledge of food‑and‑beverage operations and hygiene practices.
• Willingness to learn or prior experience in dishwashing, cleaning and stock organization.
• Reliability, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Basic educational qualification; prior hotel or restaurant experience is an advantage.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
