Static Stress Engineer – Aircraft Structures

About the role

Airbus India is seeking a Static Stress Engineer to perform detailed stress analysis of metallic and composite aircraft structures. The role involves using both classical and advanced numerical methods to ensure structural integrity and compliance with certification requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct stress analysis of aircraft structures using classical methods, ISAMI, GFEM, and DFEM.
• Extract loads, stresses, material data, geometry details, and fastener specifications from part and assembly drawings.
• Apply appropriate static design values from standard references.
• Create and refine Finite Element Models (FEMs) based on geometric data.
• Size primary and secondary structures to meet static requirements.
• Perform detailed joint analysis and calculate fastener loads.
• Determine Reserve Factors for strength, buckling (column & panel), and shear panel failure modes.
• Identify low RF issues and implement mitigation strategies using classical or numerical techniques.
• Prepare stress certification dossiers, including ACD4 and SSR reports.
• Collaborate with design, loads, and certification teams to ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in aircraft structural stress analysis.
• Strong awareness of compliance risks and a commitment to integrity.
• Professional level expertise in static design and certification processes.
