Staff Software Engineer – Money Team

About the role

As one of the first engineers for the Money team in Databricks India, you will build foundational systems that govern usage of all Databricks products. You will own critical components such as resource admission control and usage governance infrastructure, working closely with infrastructure and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own Money systems and services that govern usage of all Databricks products and offerings.
• Enhance engineering and infrastructure efficiency, reliability, accuracy, and response times, including CI/CD processes, test frameworks, data quality assurance, end‑to‑end reconciliation, and anomaly detection.
• Collaborate with platform and product teams to develop and implement innovative infrastructure that scales to meet evolving needs.
• Provide leadership in long‑term vision and requirements development for Databricks products.
• Represent Databricks at academic and industrial conferences and events.

Required profile

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 12+ years of production‑level experience in Java, Scala, C++ or a similar language.
• Proven track record in architecting, developing, deploying, and operating large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience with software security and handling sensitive data.
• Demonstrated leadership across functional and organizational boundaries.
