Staff Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Security Engineering to lead the design and development of internal platforms, tools, and automation that help protect sensitive data across the organization. This role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys building scalable backend systems, working with large‑scale data platforms, and partnering with security, privacy, compliance, and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build internal platforms and tools to support sensitive data discovery, review workflows, access governance, risk tracking, and remediation.
• Develop backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and automation workflows that help teams identify, analyze, and reduce sensitive data exposure.
• Integrate with large‑scale data systems such as object storage, databases, data warehouses, streaming platforms, metadata systems, and production services.
• Work closely with security, data platform, and product engineering teams to translate business and risk requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Partner with data owners and platform teams to improve how sensitive data is stored, accessed, transformed, shared, and monitored.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering experience supporting large‑scale production environments.
• Strong technical leadership experience driving complex, cross‑functional infrastructure or platform initiatives.
• Experience designing, building, and operating large‑scale distributed systems and cloud‑native platforms.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, networking, operating systems, observability, and performance engineering.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including compute, storage, networking, containerization, and identity services.
• Experience developing automation for deployment, monitoring, incident response, and platform operations.
• Software engineering experience, especially in backend, platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems development.
• Strong programming and scripting skills, such as Python, Bash, Java, Go, C++, or similar languages.
• Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS services, IAM concepts, permissions, logging, and access patterns.
