Software Engineer – Service Monetization Platform

About the role

As a Software Engineer on the Service Monetization Team, you will help shape the future of Crunchyroll’s subscriptions and payments platform. You will design, build and optimise backend services that enable membership, collect revenue and deliver a seamless experience for millions of fans worldwide.

About You

• 2+ years of experience building robust backend services.
• Proficiency in one or more languages such as Java, Go, Python, PHP, TypeScript or Node.js.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud services like API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, RDS and ECS.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MariaDB, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Experience with operational excellence practices, including on‑call rotations and incident management.
• Comfortable working in an Agile, collaborative environment.

About the Team

The Service Monetization organisation builds, maintains and secures systems that enable membership and process payments. The team works on integrations with payment providers, fraud detection, PCI compliance and performance optimisation, handling millions of transactions in a highly secure, distributed environment.
