Software Engineer – Backend (Java/Spring Boot)

About the role

Marriott is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Hotel Websites (HWS) team at its Tech Accelerator in Hyderabad. The position focuses on backend development using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs, and offers opportunities to work on integrations with Adobe Experience Manager and other digital experience platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend features using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Design, build, and support REST APIs and integrate them with databases and external systems.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot defects, review logs, and implement fixes collaboratively.
• Collaborate with AEM/CMS engineers on digital experience platform initiatives.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and operational aspects of cloud‑hosted applications.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional software development experience with Java and backend technologies.
• Hands‑on experience building REST APIs, working with relational databases, and developing microservices.
• Basic understanding of cloud‑native development, containerization, and deployment concepts.
• Proficiency with source control, debugging, testing, and standard software development practices.
