Software Engineer – Azure Data Fabric Platform

About the role
Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Fabric platform team. You will help build and maintain the operating system that powers a unified data stack for customers, ensuring reliability, performance and a great user experience.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, test and deploy code for a high‑throughput, multi‑tenant service.
- Collaborate with product managers and partner teams to design and refine solutions.
- Participate in on‑call rotation to monitor and improve service health.
- Drive operational excellence through metrics, governance and policy controls.
- Document existing data engineering processes and evaluate them for optimization.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience in software engineering, network engineering or systems administration, or equivalent academic background.
- Experience writing scripts to automate routine tasks.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Required skills
- PowerShell scripting.
- Python programming.
