Software Engineer II – Java Full Stack & AWS

About the role

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth Management Technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market‑leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

Key responsibilities

• Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting while thinking beyond routine approaches.
• Create secure, high‑quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Leverage enterprise‑authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain tools, including AI‑assisted development and automation, to enhance automation value.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met.
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large data sets to drive continuous improvement.
• Proactively identify hidden problems and data patterns to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 2+ years of applied experience.
• Hands‑on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, React, and JavaScript.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cloud, AI/ML, or mobile technical disciplines.
• Experience using AI‑based tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) across the SDLC for code development, testing, and automation.
• Ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI‑generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and security expectations, with the ability to guide peers.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
