Software Development Manager – Lead Agile Engineering Team

About the role

Coupang is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead a high‑performing engineering team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on building scalable, low‑latency systems that power the company’s e‑commerce and Eats Tech services while fostering a customer‑centric culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an agile team of developers to deliver stable, high‑availability systems.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard engineers aligned with team goals.
• Provide career coaching through regular 1:1 evaluations and counseling.
• Define and evolve system architecture in collaboration with peers.
• Prioritize requirements, work with product owners and stakeholders to set roadmaps, and execute plans.
• Define, measure, and report key performance indices.
• Support software implementation, operations, and continuous improvement of development processes.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 4+ years in software development management and architecture roles.
• Proven technical leadership with strong verbal and written communication.
• Hands‑on experience with agile software development methodologies.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution.
