Software Development Manager – Books Purchase & Payment Experience

About the role

Join the Amazon Books Purchase and Payments Experience team to reinvent how millions of customers buy books worldwide. As a Software Development Manager you will lead a high‑perform engineering group building tier‑1 services, payment flows, basket creation, retail ordering and AWS‑based systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow a cohesive, inclusive engineering team delivering scalable, distributed services.
• Own system‑level and business‑level SLAs, ensuring quality, throughput and innovation.
• Collaborate with product, program management and external publishers to prioritize work and resolve issues.
• Drive technical excellence through design reviews, architecture decisions and deep dive troubleshooting.
• Champion agile development processes and continuous delivery practices.
