Software Development Engineer, Sidewalk Cloud

About the role

Ring is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Sidewalk Cloud services team. You will help build and operate the core cloud platform that powers connectivity for millions of IoT devices, ensuring secure authentication, encryption, message routing and device lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑throughput services that process millions of messages daily.
• Evaluate architectural alternatives, prototype new technologies and implement solutions that meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with AWS IoT teams and cross‑functional groups across Ring, Echo and Alexa to deliver a unified connectivity solution.
• Build real‑time monitoring, analytics and AI‑driven tools for service health, anomaly detection and automated troubleshooting.
• Contribute to the product roadmap and make technical trade‑offs based on impact and scalability.

Required profile

• Strong background in building large‑scale, event‑driven cloud services.
• Experience working with server‑less architectures and distributed systems.
• Ability to work closely with ML scientists and AI engineers to integrate intelligent monitoring solutions.
