Software Development Engineer II – Smart Vehicles

About the role

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer II to join Amazon’s Smart Vehicles team. In this role you will design, build and ship voice‑first, personalized experiences that run directly inside the vehicle, helping shape the future of in‑car technology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop secure, testable, maintainable and extensible code for intelligent vehicle voice interfaces.
• Perform peer code reviews and apply best‑practice engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product management and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to iterate quickly and meet release goals.
• Influence architectural decisions and design patterns for complex, ambiguous problem spaces.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Software development life‑cycle (coding standards, source control, build processes, testing, operations).
• Design patterns, reliability and scaling of systems.
• Agile/Scrum development methodology.
• Peer code review and code quality practices.
