Software Development Engineer 2 – Android

About the role

Dexcom is looking for a Software Development Engineer 2 to design and build Android applications that support its continuous glucose monitoring solutions. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, innovative health‑tech products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Implement functional requirements, write and update design documentation.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve development efficiency.
• Collaborate with software test teams to ensure product quality.
• Develop automated unit and integration tests (Espresso, Mockito).
• Participate in design, code, and test reviews.
• Propose and implement enhancements to improve app sustainability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of native Android development experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose; Java knowledge is a plus.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong documentation, testing, and coding discipline.
• Experience working in Agile teams using Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency with Git‑based version control (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, GitFlow).
