Engineering Chapter Lead

About the role

ANZ is seeking an Engineering Chapter Lead to combine people leadership with deep technical expertise within its NZ Technology domain. You will shape a high‑performing culture, drive strategic workforce planning and support team members to deliver innovative technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering an inclusive and growth‑focused environment.
• Contribute to technology initiatives, drive innovation, and uplift technical capability across the Chapter.
• Design and implement new patterns, code, scripts, and conduct design and code reviews.
• Participate in architecture, data‑model and business‑logic discussions to solve application‑level design challenges.
• Establish standards, principles and best practices without being embedded in a delivery team.

Required profile

• Proven record of managing and mentoring engineering teams.
• Hands‑on technical experience with a can‑do attitude toward development, automation and continuous improvement.
• Passion for coaching, mentoring and providing technical guidance.
• Strong interest in software engineering excellence, new methodologies and change leadership.
• Experience working in cross‑functional, Agile and continuous‑delivery environments.
