Simulation Engineer – Digital Twin & Physics Simulation

About the role

We are looking for a Simulation Engineer to join the MI‑RA Lab at iHub. The role focuses on building the virtual side of our multimodal capture pipeline, creating digital twins and physics‑based simulations that bridge real‑world data with AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain digital twins of factory cells, clinical environments and outdoor scenes using captured sensor data.
• Set up robotics and human‑in‑the‑loop simulations, run sim‑to‑real experiments and quantify performance gaps.
• Reconstruct 3D scenes from multi‑view video and sensor streams using Gaussian splatting, NeRF‑family or neural reconstruction techniques.
• Design and implement real‑time and batch data pipelines from lab sensors, ROS 2 and industrial protocols into simulation platforms.
• Validate synthetic data through temporal alignment, calibration checks and anomaly detection.
• Package simulation components as reusable containers or micro‑services and document them for internal and partner use.

Required profile

• Proven experience in at least one simulation domain: mechanical/physical (FEA, CFD, multiphysics), systems/process (DES, robotics, process control) or electronics/software (circuit/VLSI, digital twin development).
• Strong programming skills in Python; ability to work with C++ or CUDA for performance‑critical code.
• Hands‑on experience with a modern simulation environment such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim/Isaac Lab, MuJoCo, Gazebo, Ansys, COMSOL, Unity or Unreal.
• Familiarity with the NVIDIA ecosystem and ROS 2 integration.
