Shift Electrician – Baddi

About the role

The Shift Electrician will join the plant’s maintenance team to ensure reliable operation of electrical and control systems during assigned shifts. Working closely with process area associates, the role focuses on troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of instrumentation and automation equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret electrical and control drawings to troubleshoot MCC and PLC panels.
• Calibrate and maintain pneumatic, analog, and digital instrumentation for plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware aspects of PLCs, variable frequency drives, and related control devices.
• Perform loop checks on inputs, outputs, and field instruments.
• Inspect and test instruments and systems to diagnose faults.
• Maintain computer‑based control systems, including SCADA and HMI hardware.
• Remove, repair, adjust, and replace electrical components as needed.
• Observe safety procedures in line with government and company standards.

Required skills

• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Experience with MCC (Motor Control Center) and PLC panel troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in calibrating and maintaining pneumatic, analog, and digital instrumentation.
• Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD) hardware.
• Loop checking for inputs/outputs and field instruments.
• Familiarity with SCADA and HMI hardware troubleshooting.
• Understanding of metal detector operation.
