Sheet Metal Operator – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Operator to fabricate and process aerospace sheet metal components in Bangalore. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, applying quality standards, and operating various sheet metal machinery to produce high‑precision parts for aircraft and defence applications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal forming, trimming, heat‑treatment dressing, drilling and shape correction.
• Operate NC bending machines, rubber press machines and shearing machines.
• Read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings and execute jobs accordingly.
• Select appropriate sheet metal material, thickness and size based on drawing requirements.
• Mark, measure and inspect sheets using scribers, squares, dividers and other precision tools.
• Apply OEE, 5S, TPM and Lean Manufacturing practices on the shop floor.

Required profile

• ITI pass out or relevant apprenticeship with 2–3 years of sheet metal experience.
• Good knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T concepts and dimensional requirements.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100D.
• Ability to work with various sheet metals used in aircraft structures.
