About the role
Coupang is looking for a Senior Staff Backend Engineer to design and build distributed, high‑availability systems that power its e‑commerce platform. You will work across multiple geographic locations, driving architecture, scalability, and reliability for products that serve tens of millions of users daily.
Key responsibilities
- Drive the highest quality of architecture and system design, ensuring scalability and robustness.
- Create roadmaps and vision for product growth and platform extensibility.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to open the platform for innovative solutions.
- Lead mission‑critical projects, aligning stakeholders and engineering leads.
- Deep‑dive into critical system issues and provide effective resolutions.
Required profile
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum 12 years of software design and development experience.
- Hands‑on experience building and deploying large‑scale, highly available systems.
