Senior Software Engineer – Kubernetes

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our Edge Platform team. This role blends systems engineering, software development, and cloud‑native infrastructure. You will design, build, and operate the software and platform capabilities that power our distributed edge computing infrastructure across Galleon mobile data centers and Commander cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain platform services, controllers, operators, and automation frameworks using Go and Python.
• Build internal tools and APIs that simplify provisioning, lifecycle management, observability, and operations of edge infrastructure.
• Debug and optimize Linux systems, investigate complex performance issues, and perform root‑cause analysis of production incidents.
• Architect, deploy, and manage highly available Kubernetes environments, including operators, CRDs, admission webhooks, and platform extensions.
• Implement scalable networking, storage, security, and observability solutions for Kubernetes clusters.
• Drive Infrastructure‑as‑Code initiatives with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and GitOps methodologies.
• Design and maintain observability platforms using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and centralized logging.
• Collaborate with software, infrastructure, security, and product teams and participate in on‑call rotations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in systems/platform engineering, infrastructure software, or related fields.
• Strong software development experience in Go and/or Python, building production services and automation.
• Deep understanding of Linux operating systems, kernel internals, and networking fundamentals.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes architecture, production deployments, and distributed systems at scale.
• Proven troubleshooting skills across software, OS, networking, and infrastructure layers.
