Senior Software Engineer – Java/Spring Boot (Microservices)

About the role

PepsiCo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build next‑generation digital platforms that support its supply chain, commerce, and operations. The role focuses on cloud‑native, distributed systems and modern backend development, requiring a strong emphasis on scalability, reliability, and security.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring clean architecture and high code quality.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and event‑driven components that integrate with internal and external systems.
• Continuously monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and observability through metrics, tracing, and logging.
• Collaborate closely with solution architects to define platform standards, design patterns, and best practices for cloud‑native development.
• Implement secure and compliant engineering solutions that adhere to enterprise security guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Lead code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor engineers across multiple teams to foster technical growth.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of professional backend engineering experience, preferably in large‑scale, high‑traffic environments.
• Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and the design of distributed systems and microservice architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems, debug production issues, and deliver robust solutions under tight deadlines.
