Senior Software Engineer - Java/Python, Spring, Microservices, React, AI/ML

About the role

Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Gurgaon, India. The role covers full-stack application development, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and AI/ML initiatives, working with cross-functional teams to build products that connect people with care, pharmacy benefits, data and resources.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement new features, and maintain existing applications for reliability, scalability and performance
• Manage Azure Public Cloud deployment environments and optimise cloud resources for cost and performance
• Maintain GitHub repositories and set up GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines with robust testing and validation
• Drive AI/ML projects at remote sites, including model development, integration and building AI agents to automate workflows
• Maintain and improve Python projects and utilities, and automate common tasks with reusable tools
• Work with cross-functional teams on product roadmaps, evaluate new tools and technologies, and influence technical direction
• Take part in code reviews, debugging and performance optimisation, and adhere to company policies and flexible work arrangements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar field
• Solid full-stack development experience (JavaScript/React, Node.js or similar)
• Hands-on experience with Azure Public Cloud services
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and experience building AI-driven solutions
• Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Python and Java with Spring Boot for application development and automation
• Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
• Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaboration
