Senior Software Engineer (Java)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep Java expertise to develop and maintain software for semiconductor equipment. The role involves designing, prototyping, and delivering high‑quality solutions that support AI‑driven technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and design complex software solutions.
• Own feature development from design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Define software specifications, architecture, and test strategies for new features.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement robust fixes.
• Participate in design and code reviews and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of software product development experience.
• Strong expertise in Core Java and modern Java features.
• 5+ years hands‑on experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
• 4+ years experience in software design, microservices, and event‑driven architectures.
