About the role

Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Hyderabad, India. The role involves building scalable web applications and backend services with Java and cloud platforms, and calls for a proven background in healthcare (AI).

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain scalable web applications using Java-based technologies.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services with Spring Boot.
• Build responsive frontend applications with Angular, React or JavaScript frameworks.
• Work with databases to design, develop and optimise SQL queries and data models.
• Stay up to date with the latest AI/ML trends and research.
• Deliver daily product deployments using full automation from code check-in to production across the SDLC, and comply with company policies and flexible work arrangements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• 1+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience with cross-functional and distributed teams in a global environment.
• Proven background in healthcare (AI).
• Collaborative skills to work with diverse teams.

Required skills

• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
• DevOps and CI/CD tools including Git, Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of design patterns and secure coding practices.
• Agile methodologies and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
