Senior Pavement Specialist

About the role

The Senior Pavement Specialist will provide expert technical advice on the design, construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of highway and road pavements. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure pavement works meet national specifications and deliver long‑term performance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess pavement designs, material characteristics, traffic data and performance against MoRTH/NHAI and IRC standards.
• Supervise and monitor construction activities for subgrade, sub‑base, base courses, bituminous works and concrete pavements.
• Approve mix designs, laboratory/field test results and quality‑control procedures.
• Assess existing pavement condition, identify distress and recommend rehabilitation or maintenance measures.
• Provide technical inputs for overlay design, strengthening, life‑cycle performance and bridge approach works.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and design teams and prepare technical reports and inspection documents.

Required profile

• Graduate in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in pavement design, construction or maintenance of highways, roads or airfield runways.
• Experience on at least two projects that include a major bridge (≥300 m) and its O&M.
• Medical fitness certificate as per Appendix‑B‑1 (if age > 60 years).
• Post‑graduate degree in Highway, Pavement or Transportation Engineering is preferred.
• Completed residential training on pavement/highway design from IAHE is a plus.
