Senior Manager Information Security Engineering

About the role

Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, is looking for a Senior Manager Information Security Engineering in Bangalore. The role leads a team of firewall engineers, architects, analysts and security professionals and acts as the security lead for firewall-related M&A initiatives, including due diligence, Day 1 readiness and post-close integration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a team of firewall engineers, architects, analysts and security professionals, setting goals, expectations and development plans
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement
• Manage resource allocation across integration projects, operational priorities and strategic initiatives
• Build leadership succession plans and promote technical and professional growth
• Serve as security leader for firewall-related M&A initiatives, including acquisitions, divestitures and business transformations
• Direct pre-close due diligence, Day 1 readiness and post-close integration programs
• Partner with executive leadership, infrastructure teams, application owners and business stakeholders to develop secure integration strategies and mitigate security risks
• Drive decisions and standards on inherited security risks, network connectivity, segmentation and firewall modernization
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for enterprise and acquired-entity firewall environments
• Help implement intelligent solutions that reduce manual effort and speed up M&A integration, and identify opportunities to automate firewall engineering, risk assessments, security reviews, compliance validation, reporting and workflows
• Support on-call rotations, after-hours support and high-severity security incidents when required

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of information security, cybersecurity, network security or firewall security experience
• 7+ years of hands-on experience supporting and administering enterprise firewalls
• 6+ years of leadership or people management experience, including managing leads, engineers, architects and analysts
• Experience with M&A security integrations, firewall architecture, cloud security, network segmentation and leading firewall governance, compliance frameworks, risk management and security audits
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and enterprise-level security initiatives
