Senior Manager, BFSI Field Engineering

About the role

As a Manager, Field Engineering (Data & AI) you will lead a team of Solutions Architects focused on large, strategic BFSI customers in India, driving the expansion of Databricks’ pre‑sales organization.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, build and scale a Solutions Architect pre‑sales team in the Data & AI domain.
• Increase the return on investment of Solutions Architects in sales cycles by 2‑3× over 18 months.
• Promote solution‑ and value‑based selling across the field‑engineering organization.
• Coach and mentor architects to understand customer business needs and uncover revenue potential.
• Engage C‑suite and leadership stakeholders at strategic banking and financial services accounts.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to build Databricks’ brand in India.

Required profile

• 6+ years in pre‑sales, consulting or customer‑facing managerial roles building Big Data, Cloud or SaaS teams.
• Experience with strategic Banking/Financial Services accounts generating >$1M ARR.
• 6+ years designing Big Data architectures covering data engineering, warehousing, machine learning and data science.
• Proven ability to scale and mentor field and technical teams in both on‑site and remote models.
• Strong knowledge of data‑driven decision making, AI and cloud software models.
• Deep familiarity with Apache Spark and the Databricks ecosystem.
