Engineer – Data Integration and Platform Operations

About the role

As an Engineer in the Tech Group Services & Operations at ANZ, you will take end‑to‑end accountability for delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective technology designs for enterprise projects. You will work within an Agile squad, ensuring the One Customer View platform runs efficiently at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise‑wide data integration solutions using IBM Infosphere DataStage.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Lead Engineers and analysts to translate business requirements into reusable technical capabilities.
• Ensure platform stability, performance and scalability through hands‑on configuration, code reviews and troubleshooting.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and performance engineering activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in data integration and platform engineering.
• Strong understanding of metadata, data lineage and database concepts (Oracle, Teradata preferred).
• Experience working in Agile squads and using tools such as GitHub, Confluence and Jira.

Required skills

• IBM Information Server – Infosphere DataStage 11.5 Parallel edition.
• Shell scripting and SQL stored procedures.
• Control‑M, Connect Direct, EBCDIC file handling and Cobol copybooks.
• Message queues, XML/XSD parsing within DataStage.
• CI/CD, automated testing, performance engineering.
• Agile development methodology.
• GitHub, GHA, Confluence, Jira.
• Additional (nice‑to‑have): QlikView/Qlik Sense, Python, GCP, AI technologies.
