Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer - DB2

About the role

Ensono is seeking a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer to provide DB2 system engineering services for UBS DB2 for z/OS platforms. The role focuses on lifecycle management, maintenance, PFSET implementation, upgrades, performance engineering, and Level 3 support to keep the DB2 environment secure, stable, and aligned with UBS architecture standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute platform lifecycle activities, including maintenance, PFSET deployments, upgrades, and engineering changes.
• Drive performance engineering initiatives to improve DB2 efficiency and stability.
• Ensure platform resiliency, recovery readiness, and overall stability.
• Provide Level 3 support for complex database issues and resolve them in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Experience with CA, BMC, and IBM tools for DB2 administration.
• Ability to work independently, multitask under tight deadlines, and handle high‑pressure situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations.
• Willingness to support multiple clients after‑hours on‑call.

Required skills

• DB2 for z/OS platform expertise.
• Proficiency with CA, BMC, and IBM tooling.
• Knowledge of PFSET implementation and IBM Db2 Continuous Delivery model.
• Performance engineering and Level 3 support capabilities.
