Senior Legal Counsel – Litigation & Compliance

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel & Compliance Manager serves as the primary legal advisor to the organisation, supporting business operations across India, Singapore, the United States, UAE, Vietnam, and other jurisdictions. The role oversees commercial contracts, litigation, regulatory compliance, employment law, data privacy, intellectual property, and strategic legal risk management, providing practical legal guidance that enables business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage commercial agreements such as customer, SaaS, vendor, partnership, consultancy, service, banking and financing contracts, while maintaining templates and negotiation playbooks.
• Manage domestic and international disputes—including consumer, employment, TCPA, contractual, arbitration and court matters—by coordinating with external counsel, directing litigation strategy, evidence collection, discovery and supporting settlement negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws across operating jurisdictions, advise on data privacy and fintech regulations, monitor regulatory developments and update internal policies.
• Provide counsel on employment matters, HR policies, investigations and labour law compliance.
• Oversee intellectual property protection, licensing, enforcement and related legal issues.
• Draft and respond to legal notices and partner with business, product, HR and finance teams to deliver practical, risk‑balanced legal advice while supporting strategic risk management and governance initiatives.

Required profile

• LL.B. / B.A. LL.B. qualification.
• At least 5 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate legal and compliance roles.
• Experience handling cross‑border legal matters across jurisdictions such as India, Singapore, the United States, UAE and Vietnam is preferred.
