Senior Java Developer (5+ Years)

About the role

Synechron is looking for a Java Developer with 5+ years of experience to design, develop, test and maintain reliable Java applications. The role works with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions, resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain high-quality Java applications, including services built with Java, Spring and microservices.
• Write clean, efficient, secure and maintainable code, and diagnose and resolve technical issues within agreed timelines.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment and release activities.
• Collaborate with business, product, quality, architecture and operations teams, and contribute to Agile planning, estimation, documentation and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with Java technologies and consider performance, scalability, security and responsible use of resources.
• Write, review and maintain Java code, create and run automated tests, investigate defects and production incidents, and maintain build scripts, CI/CD pipelines and documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Experience with Spring, Java frameworks, relational databases, CI/CD and application support.
• Experience in cross-functional or Agile teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Preferred: financial services, consulting, technology or regulated-industry experience.
• Preferred: Java certification, and completion of Synechron onboarding, security, compliance and project training.

Required skills

• Java 8+, Java 17+ preferred; object-oriented programming
• Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs and microservices
• MySQL, Oracle or SQL Server; SQL and relational database concepts
• Gradle, Git, CI/CD pipelines and basic Linux
• Unit and integration testing; unit and integration testing preferred
• Preferred: Struts, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, cloud platforms, containers, application monitoring and logging tools
