Senior IT Automation Engineer

About the role

Coinbase is looking for a Senior IT Automation Engineer to shape the future of its IT tooling platform. You will own the technical architecture of automation solutions that power IT Support & Services, working across global regions and a suite of modern tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own the architecture of IT tooling automations using n8n, Airflow, Temporal, and Jira.
• Establish architecture standards, code‑review practices, and produce documentation to raise the team’s engineering bar.
• Lead high‑impact automation projects from discovery through production delivery.
• Partner with Security, Corporate Engineering, and IAM to resolve technical blockers and influence cross‑functional architecture decisions.
• Build reusable frameworks and components to reduce single points of failure across the platform.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT engineering, automation, or systems engineering with ownership of architecture decisions.
• Proven ability to operate in ambiguous environments and translate loosely scoped problems into production‑ready specifications.
• Experience collaborating with regional IT teams across APAC, EMEA, and AMER.
